How To Design The Perfect Home Office

In the post-pandemic world more people than ever are working from home, many citing that they find it easier to balance work and family while working from home. But that balance is all about compartmentalization. To separate work and family life, it’s important to create separate spaces.

At Remember To Dream, our design team has come up with the four most important things to consider when bringing high-end home design into your office.

Create a Separate Physical Space

It’s hard to concentrate on work if you have a dirty pile of laundry or a sink full of dishes staring at you. If you don’t have the space to designate an entire room for an office, use a wall divider or large piece of furniture to break up the space. This will also keep you from thinking about work while you’re enjoying your time after office hours.

Flexible Seating

There’s been a huge push lately in the k-12 education world advocating for more flexible seating options. It improves work quality and boosts creativity. Adults are no different. We need variety in our days and having a couple of places to sit or stand in your home office will drastically improve your work day. Check out some of our comfiest chairs and desk furniture.

Light and Nature

RTD is leading the way in Northern Colorado interior design and we know how hard it is to work from home in the winter when the sun sets at 4:45 pm. Keep your office bright and cheerful by bringing in light and nature. RBG bulbs are wonderful for mimicking daylight and can be set to get brighter as the sun sets. House plants are a great way to bring the outside in (and they have the added benefit of purifying the air in your office.) If you are limited on space a moss box is a great alternative to a potted plant.

Highlight Your Personal Style

Even though many people are working remotely, we’re still human and want to connect with each other. It’s important to have a home office that represents you, even if it’s just the wall behind your webcam. Our team at Remember To Dream can help you get started with high-end home design for your office that will showcase your personal style. Our selection of unique decor elements are the perfect way to make a good (digital) first impression.
